KEIKOU NISHIMURA URUSHI ART STUDIO

Master Keikou Nishimura (founder of the Keikou name) established his Kyoto studio in the early 1900s.
Traditional Japanese lacquerware production functions under a system of division of labor.
The Keikou studio specializes in the finishing coats (UWANURISHI).
Currently headed by 3rd generation Master Keikou, the studio specializes in Tea Ceremony
implements and has been instrumental in keeping the traditional skills of Kyoto alive.
Lacquerware created from carefully chosen materials cover the full spectrum of standard and modern designs.
Working with his partner Yoko, he continues to surprise us with new interpretations in the world of lacquerware.
